8vo. 78 pp. Red cloth-backed boards in the photo-illustrated dust jacket. With prefaces by Robinson Jeffers and Una Jeffers and a foreword by Frederick Mitchell. A near fine copy. 

An association copy of real depth: presented to the man who introduced Lyon to his printer, with the laid-in postcard recording that exact gift two weeks before the book existed. Inscribed by Horace Lyon on the front endpaper: "For Peter Bartlett, with deep appreciation for his having introduced me to Fred Mitchell and his wondrous Scrimshaw Press that made this book possible. Carmel, 10 November 1971. Horace Lyon." 

Horace Lyon (1885–1976) was a photographer who, beginning in 1935, made photographs of the Carmel and Big Sur landscapes he believed were the "seed plots" of Robinson Jeffers' poetry. Thirty-five years in the making, the book appeared in 1971, after both Jefferses had died.
