Printed at Paul Elder's Tomoye Press, with a color frontispiece (tissue-guarded) after a painting by Will Jenkins and the text set within decorative borders. Tan paper boards with red spine and pale-orange lettering. The complete gift-presentation copy as issued: tied with a red silk ribbon and accompanied by Paul Elder's designed gift card "Hindu Christmas Greetings," housed in the original color-patterned paper publisher's gift box. Orignial boards. Slight fading to the book spine and light wear to box.

Arthur Guiterman (1871–1943) — humorist and, in 1910, a co-founder of the Poetry Society of America — renders into light English verse a selection of proverbs and pithy sayings gathered from across Hindustan: Bengal, the Punjab, Rajputana, and the mountains of Kashmir and Afghanistan. A charming and well-preserved Tomoye Press production, complete with its original presentation elements — uncommon thus.
