Laid in is substantial original material from the author's signing at the Thunderbird Bookshop, The Barnyard, Carmel: six color and black-and-white prints reproducing the author's illustrations; photographs from the event showing the young author with family and with the Carmel cartoonist Gus Arriola (1917–2008), captioned "THUNDERBIRD JAN. 28, 2001"; and the printed exhibition announcement for "Pen and Ink Drawings by Martin Davis Taylor," January 30 to February 28, at the Thunderbird Bookstore.
